This year Little River will participate in opportunities to show our commitment to being an Open and Affirming congregation. Drop by and visit with us!
The Fairfax City Pride Festival is on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center (3740 Blenheim Blvd. in Fairfax). LRUCC will have a table with giveaway items for attendees. This is a great way to make our congregation known to members of the community! You’re welcome to help staff the table and talk to festival goers or just show support by attending. Wear your blue LRUCC t-shirt if you have one!
All are invited to march as part of the Central Atlantic Conference contingent in the Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 20, in Washington, DC. The parade kicks off at 3 p.m. at 14th and T Streets NW and ends at Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Street NW. The theme of this year’s Capital Pride is Exist. Resist. Have the Audacity! The time and place that we will line up for the parade will be announced closer to the date. Our contingent is always warmly welcomed by the crowd—a sign that this witness is important to people who may not realize they are welcome at UCC congregations!
