Little River United Church of Christ
Little River is pleased to host Many Faiths. One Freedom., an interfaith community conversation exploring religious liberty, faith in civic life, and the relationship between church and state from America’s founding to today.
Presented by Interfaith Communities for Dialogue in partnership with the Jewish-Islamic Dialogue Society of Washington, the program will consider questions including:
What did America’s founders intend regarding religious liberty and the role of faith in civic life?
How are those views reflected in the Constitution and the First Amendment?
How has the national conversation around faith, government, and religious freedom continued from the founding to today?
The afternoon will feature Professor John Farina, Associate Professor of Religion & Society, Religion and Law, and American Religious History at George Mason University, followed by breakout group discussions.
