FISH Volunteers Needed: Phone Captains and Drivers

Little River UCC is looking for volunteers to help support FISH food deliveries one Thursday each month.

There are two ways to serve:

Phone Captains work from home using a phone and computer. They receive approved assistance requests from Fairfax County and coordinate deliveries with volunteer drivers. The time commitment is approximately half a day, one Thursday a month. Training is provided.

Drivers connect with clients, coordinate delivery, purchase a reimbursed grocery gift card, pack food from the LRUCC pantry, and make the delivery. The time commitment is several hours, one Thursday a month. Training is provided.

These roles are a meaningful way to help provide food assistance to neighbors in our community while serving alongside Little River’s longstanding FISH ministry.
