Compassionate Listening Workshop
Saturday, October 4, 11 a.m.–1:45 p.m.
Have you ever felt fully heard by someone who deeply listened to you? Maybe this occurred with a friend, or a therapist, or a family member. If so, then you probably experienced the blessings of compassionate listening. Compassionate listening has benefits for both the speaker and the listener and involves mindfulness and presence. In this experiential workshop we will explore the roots and the components of compassionate listening as well as learn ways to cultivate this healing skill in our everyday lives. Come and learn more about this practice, used worldwide to address conflict and promote peacebuilding between communities and nations, as well as to heal and strengthen personal and family relationships.
Our program facilitator will be LR member Patrice Alvarado, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist. The workshop program will be held in the social hall from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided by the Women’s Ministry Team, which is hosting this program. RSVP is appreciated: bit.ly/LR-Listening or sign up at the Welcome Desk on Sunday in the church atrium.
