Backpack Drive
Backpacks for Neighbor to Neighbor
Deadline Thursday, August 7
This summer we will again collect backpacks for school-aged children to be distributed through our partners in Neighbor to Neighbor. Neighbor to Neighbor is a coalition of four local churches who are helping recent Afghan refugees become integrated into U.S. society.
Little River has been asked to collect a total of 29 backpacks for distribution on August 10; we are asking that backpacks be delivered to church by Thursday, August 7. They do NOT need to contain any school supplies. Of the total of 29 backpacks, we need the following:
23 solid color backpacks, larger size and either dark green or dark blue (for middle school or high school aged students)
6 brighter colored, smaller backpacks, (for pre-K, K, or 1st grade) – of the 6 smaller backpacks 4 are boys, 1 is a girl, and 1 does not have gender information provided.
Thank you for supporting young people and recent immigrants in our community through this ministry!
