First Friday — On hiatus
First Friday is a popular kids night out program, designed to give parents an evening to themselves. Volunteers provide creative and exciting entertainment for the children in a safe and fun atmosphere at the church. Dinner is provided for children and helpers. First Friday is for children aged six months through 12 years. All children in our community are welcome, whether or not their families attend Little River UCC. Tell your friends and family!
Youth
Pilgrim Youth Fellowship (PYF) is an opportunity for youth to gather for recreation, fellowship, learning, and service for their spiritual growth. For more information about PYF, please contact Amy Mireku, PYF coordinator.
Youth Summer Mission Experiences
Mission trips are an opportunity for youth to actively practice their faith, join in fellowship with one another, gain independence and responsibility, and learn an appreciation of communities different from their own.
In the past, PYF youth have worked with Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity in Franklin, West Virginia and attended the UCC National Youth Event in Orlando, FL.
In 2018 the summer mission experience was in Biloxi, MS at Back Bay Mission, a powerful ministry dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods, promoting social justice, and is a treasure of the United Church of Christ. Much of their work involves housing rehabilitation, education, and enrichment programs in an area that is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
