Remembering Dr. King

This weekend we will have the privilege of celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. On Sunday, please join us for a time to commemorate this modern prophet and visionary.

The Rev. Marvin Silver, our Associate Conference Minister from the Central Atlantic Conference, will be offering the sermon--"Faith and Democracy"--and highlighting the work of the Justice and Witness Action Network. By engaging in this network of UCC churches, we can move the needle on important issues of public policy in Virginia that disproportionately affect people of color.

The Rev. Darryl! Moch, pastor at UCC of Fredericksburg, will be reading from MLK’s "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." We will also be joined by Suzette Reynolds, the Interfaith Coordinator at Fairfax County, who will be reading from MLK’s “Where do we go from here?” This service will be a time to learn, to remember, and to recommit to racial justice here and now. Please join us at 10 a.m. in person or online!
